Eco-Friendly Drain Cleaner
Clogged drains are inevitable. Commercial drain cleaners are horrible for the environment and not free. In order to resolve all of these issues I decided to unclog my sink yesterday in a new way. So I did a google search for "unclogging drains" and this page showed up in the top three results.
Basic premise is this:
1. Pour baking soda into the drain, about 1/2 a cup.
2. Pour vinegar into the drain - I used apple cider vinegar, but any vinegar should do.
3. Cover the drain so the resulting volcano of hair/gunk doesn't make a mess.
4. Let your concoction sit for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prep some water to be boiling for the next step.
5. Pour your boiling (or just really really hot) water down the drain.
6. Enjoy your freshened, fast draining sink or bathtub.
It worked beautifully for me!
